FluentAffiliate 1.6.0: Captcha Protection, Custom Registration Fields and CRM Tag Management

This release is about who joins your program and what you know about them. FluentAffiliate 1.6.0 keeps spam signups out, lets you ask new affiliates the questions that matter to your business, and puts your CRM tags right where you manage affiliates.
At a glance: block junk applications with Captcha Protection, collect the details you need through Custom Registration Fields, and manage CRM Tags and Lists without leaving the affiliate profile.
Stop Spam Signups at the Door

Your affiliate registration form is a public form, and public forms attract bots. You can now put a captcha in front of it (pro), so junk applications never reach your affiliate list in the first place.
Google reCAPTCHA is supported in both flavours: the classic v2 checkbox your visitors know, or invisible v3 scoring that stays out of their way. With v3 you set the score threshold yourself, so you decide how strict the filter is.
Setting it up is quick. Paste your keys, hit Validate Keys, and FluentAffiliate runs a real challenge against Google to confirm the pair actually works — no guessing whether you copied the right secret. Your secret key is stored encrypted, and the registration form carries the privacy disclosure Google asks for.

Ask Affiliates What You Need

Every program asks something different. A tax ID, a payout preference, an audience size, the social channel someone promotes on. FluentAffiliate 1.6.0 lets you add your own fields to the registration form (pro) and collect that information up front, instead of chasing it over email after approval.
Build the form from eight field types, each with a label, help text, and an optional required flag:
- Text, Textarea, Number, Date, and URL for open answers
- Dropdown, Radio, and Multi Select when you want to keep answers tidy
- An options editor for the choice fields, so you control exactly what applicants can pick
Whatever an affiliate submits shows up on their profile in your admin, right inside the Affiliate Info panel — so the answers live next to the person they belong to.
Developers get a hand here too. New filters let an add-on validate submitted values, enrich the admin detail view, and extend the portal settings form, so custom fields can be wired into your own workflow.
Manage CRM Tags and Lists

The FluentCRM card on the affiliate detail page used to be read-only. Now it is interactive: add or remove a contact’s tags and lists directly from the affiliate profile, without opening FluentCRM in another tab.
Permissions are respected throughout — only users who can read and manage FluentCRM contacts see and change anything.
A Smoother Move from Solid Affiliate
Your creatives come across too. Migrating from Solid Affiliate now brings your marketing creatives with it (pro), so affiliates keep the banners they already promote with.
Cleaner data on arrival. Affiliate groups, commission rate types, and referral product names all land correctly now, so what you see after a migration matches what you had before it.
Faster on big datasets. Product titles are looked up in batches instead of one at a time, and failed inserts are handled gracefully rather than stalling the run.
Faster Reports and a Better Looking Admin
Quicker referral and payout screens. New database indexes on the referral and payout transaction tables make busy programs feel noticeably lighter to browse.
Exports that stay in their lane. Payout exports and background reconciliation now work within set budgets, so a large program cannot bog your site down mid-run.
A more polished dark mode. We reworked the dark palette for better contrast and gave admin form fields a consistent size and style across every screen.
Bug Fixes and Stability
Your numbers add up. Manually created referrals no longer lose a cent to rounding, group commission rates now agree between checkout and the admin display, and payout transactions record your store currency instead of always saying USD. Per-transaction referral counts show that transaction’s own referrals rather than the whole payout’s total.
No more stranded money. If a payout run was interrupted, referrals could be left in a processing state that never reached an affiliate. Those referrals are now settled as one unit, so nothing goes missing. We also fixed a division-by-zero error when a fully discounted order was refunded.
More reliable tracking. The referrer is recorded on every visit again, so attribution data is complete in your reports, and referral links keep working after you change your link format.
Everyday polish. Checkout no longer fails when an affiliate’s WordPress user has been deleted, affiliate list filters survive sanitization, affiliate managers can reach the group options endpoint, and custom notification email subjects are honoured again.
Tighter security. Report endpoints now require an actual FluentAffiliate permission rather than just being logged in, proxy-supplied IP headers are validated before use, and the redirect URL in the auth success screen is escaped. We also went through the shipped code to bring output escaping and input sanitization fully in line with WordPress standards.
Wrapping Up
FluentAffiliate 1.6.0 gives you more control over who joins your program, more detail about the affiliates who do, and more confidence that the numbers behind them are right.
